Prologue
Ironically, the so-called “rules of success” have been handed down by people who succeeded at the business of teaching the rules of success.
In a similar vein, I had wondered how a successful person comes to want to tell others, in a book, why and how they succeeded. Given human nature, is it not because the telling is itself profitable to them — another success in its own right?
Success begins in the feeling of “evil”
Most rules of success are nothing more than admonitions successful people give themselves. Which is why to successful people they mean a great deal.
… the feeling of “evil” carries high energy. “Evil” differs from “good” only in polarity, plus versus minus; viewed as energy it is enormously powerful. The “evil” in human beings has an absurd amount of force — it starts wars and commits murders. Figures who embodied “good” like Mother Teresa or Gandhi are hard to find, while people who commit crimes and other wrongs are everywhere.
